Sonairte in Winter - Trailer
Sonairte in Winter is a short educational film presented by climate activist and nature educator Nicola Winters. The 30 minute film is available for private showings at schools and conferences, online and off. Sonairte [pronounced SON-ART-A] is an interactive visitor centre, located on the coast off Meath, promoting ecological awareness and sustainable living. The name Sonairte is derived from a middle Irish word meaning “positive strength”. Sonairte was established as a charity in 1988 by members of the local community and concerned environmentalists to promote environmental awareness and education. At Sonairte we work with groups from all backgrounds, ages and abilities, including pre-schools, primary schools, post primary schools, third level institutions, tour groups and youth groups. We also provide facilities and programmes for the general public, community groups and interested individuals. Our courses aim to provide information, education and practical skills on a range of topics, such as biodiversity, organic gardening and sustainable living. Our approach is holistic, and with small numbers on each course, learner focused.
iCare Housing - Michael
I worked with housing non-profit iCare to create this micro doc about their latest tenant Michael. "Delighted to announce that we have just saved 52 families from homelessness. We have completed the purchase of all 52 homes using the State's #MortgageToRent scheme. Here's our newest tenant Michael Skelly to explain how it's changed his life"
Eight is a series of monologues written by Ella Hickson for the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it won a 'Best in Edinburgh' award and a Fringe First award. There are actually nine characters in all – the author omitted the character of 'Buttons' from the original production for being “too niche” but included him in the published script – and they range in age from late teens to early thirties. Performed and recorded by two separate casts, Eight will be available on demand on four Thursdays from January 7th with casts alternating weekly. Tickets for all performances are €10. Shot and edited by Gareth Stack. Directed by Peter McDermott Lighting Designer Matt Burke Producer Tamar Keane Costumes & Props Lisa Krugel Produced by The Lock Inn

Well Spun Tales - Trailer
http://wellspuntales.com/ Well Spun Tales is a series of short films. Each one is a portrait of a cyclist in Dublin, representing the diversity of people cycling for pleasure or work in our city. The series was inspired by Australian research showing that around half of drivers perceive cyclists as less than human. As well as the growing toll of cycling casualties on Irish roads. Cycling is healthy, environmentally friendly and fun. It is one of the best ways to explore our city: To fall in love with the lost nooks and crannies of greater Dublin. But too many people are understandably afraid to cycle on Irish roads. And the media’s go to image of cyclist is still a lycra clad, helmet clad, hyper fit, middle aged man. We set out to speak to real Irish cyclists. Ordinary people, interviewed in their favorite places in Dublin. We want to show that cyclists are real people, from every walk of life. That cycling is something that can and should be enjoyed by all kinds of people, of all ages and backgrounds.
